Competition Day

The competition went pretty good. We got first in distance but lacked acurracy a little. Timmothy puller came in 2nd behind us in distance. But we still have a few more people to go.

Final Fabrication


I'm currently working with a partner to make the final trebuchet. We are going with the design of a steel and aluminum base and frame. But our throwing arm is part of a tree branch. As you can see from the pictures here we are cutting down the tree branch to size and melting lead as the counter-weight.

Trebuchet BluePrints

We are currently making the final adjustments on our metal trebuchet..Are base is going to be 20'' and are width is about 16'' with a complete metal base and frame. But the throwing arm has to be made of a tree branch. We have a steel bar as our axle

1/2 the way done with my research paper

Today is Tuesday & I'm half of the way done with my research paper. I've explained what are Gastraphetes, Catapults and Trebuchets. Now all i have to do is the difference between a Catapult and a Trebuchet.

Trebuchet Research Paper

My class is currently doing a project on the history and designs of trebuchets. We are going to build one of the following Trebuchets; Free Floating, Fixed Counter Weight, and the Hinged Counter Weight.
